There might be a couple of moments in your life when you come across something that you should have acted on, and which if acted on, would bring your life into a completely different level.

This job advert is one of these things. 

A few words about us

We are a software development company focused intensely on building an exceptional work environment. We do it by relentlessly optimizing the way we function, listening to our team members, and granting them as much autonomy and support in setting their workflow the way they want to as possible.

A few words about what you would do in our company

We are looking for someone who can take care of things autonomously. At first we would throw at you all those backlog tasks that we are finding to be not in the area of the biggest value that we can provide at the moment, but that still need to be taken care of. 

This busy work would make you feel useful, and would let you get a hang of how our company works. With time you would build processes around those things, make them run smoothly. You would optimize how we function in those areas, and make them function together with the growth that we are experiencing (around 40% a year). 

After some time you would signal that there are things that you should focus on, and that some of the tasks you are currently doing should be done by someone else. We would then hire the next person, to take the ‘non-crucial’ things from you, so that you can focus on that which you can really shine around. 

In this way you will find the right area for yourself, where you can truly realize your greatest skills and talents. That is the plan of action.

Let’s take a few real life examples of what you would be expected to do in the beginning: 

1. There are areas in our project management software and finance management areas which are in a bit of turmoil, there is not the right amount of order to how they are handled. To fix that, you would have to first do a lot of things manually, in order to get a hang of what is happening, and then propose solutions that would streamline the whole process. 

2. We need someone to run our HR process. It is set up the right way, but it lacks someone to execute it reliably, someone to feel responsible for running it. With time, once you get a hang of it, you would install as many improvements to it and automations as you would deem necessary. 

3. We have lost the drive in our office space development. For some time we were really onto something, we were making our office better and better each day, but at some point it stopped. We think one of the reasons for it is that we are simply out of energy for those things. Having other ‘high output’ activities to handle, we are simply treating it as a backlog activity. We need to bring some fresh energy to that. We need someone who will find it in themselves, to increase the overall quality of our daily surroundings. It would ideally be somebody, who'd do so by inspiring people to do something together, leading the internal 'office perfection initiative' we already have in place, fighting for the funds to outsource this to someone else, or simply buying and putting together a few pieces of furniture that would make our lives easier.

As one of the core values we live by is mentorship, from the beginning you would be supported by some of the most helpful people in our company. With time, you would transform into a Process Manager, Project Manager, or any other role that you would figure out for yourself. Your only task is to prove yourself useful and autonomous in the beginning, and then opportunities for growth will sprout around you. 

We need autonomous and self-organising people (no previous work experience necessary!), who with time will become leaders of their own domains. Your initial domain would be operations, getting things done, closing the open loops. With time you would make your domain anything that lets you express your internal genius in the best way possible.
